This is only the second vintage we have ever made. And already a powerful statement of what Méthode Traditionelle can become on the volcanic slopes of Lake Balaton.

FURMINT / RIESLING Méthode Traditionelle 2021

50 % Furmint / 50 % Riesling.
Harvested together in September 2021 from our best vineyard sites on Csobánc hill and spontaneously fermented together in used 500 l Stockinger barrels.

Tirage followed 6 months later in March 2022. The bottles then rested for 48 months on the lees and were traditionally riddled by hand before disgorgement in March 2026. Every single step – from base wine to tirage, second fermentation, lees ageing and disgorgement – was carried out entirely in-house in our cellar at VILLA TOLNAY.

With 12 % alcohol, 4 g/l dosage and a fine, delicate mousse, the wine shows remarkable precision, saline minerality and the unmistakable basalt character of our volcanic terroir.

Only 900 bottles produced.
